“If you have a healthy relationship with yourself, your relationships with others will also blossom.”

Mental health is one’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being where it affects the way one think, feel and act on a day-to-day basis. Everything an individual encounter throughout life affects that person’s mental health for the better or the worst. Your mental health influences your physical health, relationships with yourself and others, and your aspirations.

Your brain is a powerful tool that has influence over your mental and physical health. If you are not taking care of your mental health, it will affect your physical health. Recall the time when you are sad about an argument you had with your parents. Did you sleep well afterward, or did you stay up all night thinking about it? Did you have a good appetite, or did you barely eat? Did you feel motivated to go on with your day, or did you just want to lounge at home in your pajamas all day doing nothing? You will eventually get sick if this continues. Take advantage of your brain and use it to control your mental health so that your physical health is also in check.

Your mental health affects your relationships. If you have a healthy relationship with yourself, your relationships with others will also blossom. Recall the time when you went through a hard break up with your significant other. Did you want to go out and socialize with your friends, or did you want to hide from everyone? Did you feel motivated to be productive, or did you want to lie in one spot and cry? Did you get frustrated easily, or did you calmly go through your day? When an individual feels unsatisfied with his/herself, it will show in their relationships with others. This can often lead to bad terms with those around them. Thus, practicing self-care and self-love can boost interpersonal relationships.

People are uninspired and unmotivated to do anything when they are feeling down. Recall the time when you made a mistake in a job assignment. Did you feel like a failure in that moment, or did you think of it as a lesson? Did you feel worthless, or did you feel inspired to try something else? Did you want to give up, or did you find ways to improve? With a positive mentality, individuals will seek light even when they fail because one mistake does not mean the end. Having a positive mental health leads to higher aspirations and motivations to do more and achieve more. So it is best to learn ways to effectively deal with your stress for a healthy lifestyle.
